Amanda Alvarado-Ford

Immigration Lawyer with 20+ Years of Experience

Amanda received her B.A. from Stanford University in 1988, double major in International Relations and Spanish Literature, and her J.D. from Widener University School of Law in 1993. 

After spending several years as a federal labor lawyer with the National Labor Relations Board in New York City, Newark N.J., and San Francisco, in 2006 Amanda began working as an immigration lawyer in San Mateo, CA.  Her focus was representing Spanish-speaking clients in removal proceedings.

Before opening her own practice, Amanda worked as a Pro Bono Attorney in the Immigration Unit of La Raza Centro Legal. While at La Raza, she focused on cases involving Naturalization, Family Immigrant Visas and Consular Processing, DACA, and U Visas. In early 2014. Amanda was honored as a “Pro Bono VIP” by the American Immigration Lawyers Association.

Amanda is currently Chapter Chair-Elect of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, Santa Clara Valley.
